Real Pumpkins, Grown onsite!
We are very proud to open up our pumpkin patch to thousands of visitors each autumn.
Covering an acre, our pumpkin patch is completely LEGIT – every pumpkin is grown from scratch right here in Southwold, not just dropped into the field! We begin planting in May, with over 1000 seeds planted into hand-cut holes across the patch.
It’s a team effort, as our whole family works together to grow thousands of pumpkins, including the planting, the weeding and the preparation in the lead-up to Halloween!
Over 15 varieties
We have selected over 15 varieties for our pumpkin patch this year. Large, medium and small, green, white, orange and yellow, smooth, bumpy, round and oblong – you name it, we have it!
Pumpkins aren’t just for carving – we’ve also grown some pumpkin varieties that are excellent in the kitchen, and make incredible curries, stews, soups and cakes! Ask our staff about the Crown Prince and Red October varieties!

Pick Your Own Pumpkins
For the month of October, you can visit our pumpkin patch on the Suffolk coast. Bring the whole family and truly select the exact pumpkin you want to take home, directly from the field!
Our patch is open every weekend during October, and the whole October half term, from 9.30am – 4pm!
Parking is free, and there’s no need to book – just turn up, grab a wheelbarrow, seek
out your favourite pumpkins and pay for what you pick!
Haunting Halloween Activities
We’ve got an exciting array of Halloween activities taking place at Old Hall Southwold during October half term (24 th – 31 st October)!
Explore our play park, packed full of exciting play equipment, including our bouncy pillows, double zip line and ghoulish pedal go-karts, and join Boodles’ Trick or Treat Stamp Trail!
Each day during half term, one golden pumpkin is hidden somewhere in the pumpkin patch, and one is hidden in the play park – be the one to find it and win a prize, including summer maize maze tickets!
Over in the big barn there’s Halloween games, activities and ride-ons. And you can avoid taking home the mess by carving your pumpkin at our carving station!
